This captures the essence of pairing as far as I'm concerned – it is a discipline of “programming out loud”. Language: English Released: 1976. I think for some reason computer programming is often miscategorized as a discipline to study or a class to take that's only relevant for aspiring software engineers. The discipline requires considerable programming and computing knowledge, as well as visualization, so that the insights extracted from the data can be presented in a way that reinforces human cognition. They rarely look outside the code directly affecting their work.
